We have gathered some of the most commonly asked questions regarding Nykredit Copenhagen Marathon. If you do not find the answers you need, feel free to contact Sparta customer service at sparta@sparta.dk or +45 35266900.

  • What time is the race?
    The race starts at 9:30. It takes about 15 minuts for all the runners to cross the start line.
  • Is the course traffic free?
    Yes.
  • How many hydration stations are there?
    There are 10 on course hydration and refreshment stations.
  • What is offered at the hydration stations?
    At all hydration stations you are offered water and Powerade energy drink. At every other station as of 7,3 km there is also served oranges and bananas.
  • When do I recieve my bib number?
    You will receive your registration card by mail about a week before the race. You must bring the registration card to the Marathon Expo either in electronic or printed form in order to have your start material including bib number, timing chip, and a Nike T-shirt handed out.
  • How do I receive my bib number if I register online for the race close to race day?
    If you register online only a few days before the race and you haven’t received your registration card by Friday, you must still pick up your start material at the Marathon Expo. Remember to bring personal ID.
  • Do I get split times?
    You will get split times for every 5 km and at 21,1 km. Be sure to run across the timing mats! You can see the split time on big screens along the course and on the result list after the race.
  • Where can I see the results?
    Race results including split times are shown live on this website and on politiken.dk/motion.
  • Is the race live broadcasted?
    Yes, the race is covered live and streamed on big screens at the start and finish, on this website and on politiken.dk/motion.
  • Will I recieve a medal?
    All runners will get a medal upon crossing the finish line.
  • How do I get to the starting area?
    We recommend using public transportation. Metro and S-train are not affected by the marathon, however, you should be aware that several busses are redirected.
  • Which stations are closest to start?
    Islands Brygge Metro station is only a 5 minutes walk from the start area, while it takes only 12 minutes to walk from Dybbølsbro/Fisketorvet S-train station.
  • Where do I hand in my baggage bag?
    The baggage storage at the start opens 7:30 am. The baggage storage is attended, but we do not provide any guarantees for valuables. After handing in your baggage, there are rain capes available to keep you warm before the start.
  • Can I get a money refund in case of cancellation?
    The bib number is non-refundable. Until Mai 1, however, it is possible to defer your start to 2013. As of May 2 this is only possible upon presentation of medical certificate.
  • Are name changes possible?
    The bib number is personal and may not be transferred to another person, just as name changes are not possible.
  • Is there a course time limit?
    The course time limit is set to 6 hours. After this time the course will no longer be closed to traffic, and all runners must comply with normal traffic regulations.
